Brian Sumers, an expert on the global airline industry, is editor of The Airline Observer, a newsletter covering the business of airlines, and a co-host of The Air Show, a podcast focused on the business of the sky. Previously, Brian led aviation coverage for Skift, and was a regular contributor to Conde Nast Traveler and Aviation Week. Early in his career, he covered sports for the Tampa Bay Times and St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Brian is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School, and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
