Edison Chen is Vice President of Trip.com Group, where he leads the Destination Marketing & Strategic Alliances, Corporate Branding, Government & International Public Relations, and Sustainability functions. He plays a central role in driving the company’s global outreach and brand positioning, spearheading innovation campaigns that connect travellers with destinations worldwide, with a particular focus in the EU and APAC regions.
Since joining Trip.com Group in 2014, Mr Chen has developed and expanded the company’s international destination marketing and government relations presence. His innovative vision has enabled him to lead a global team in strengthening collaboration with over 100 partners from 20 countries worldwide.
He has driven groundbreaking partnerships in entertainment, sports, and large-scale events, facilitating collaborations with global industry leaders such as Live Nation Entertainment and Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) to position Trip.com Group at the forefront of the global events and tourism sector.
In the area of Government Relations, Mr Chen has facilitated high-profile leadership meetings and secured strategic partnership agreements witnessed by Prime Ministers of Thailand, New Zealand, and Australia, enhancing Trip.com Group's international diplomatic and business ties. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors at JTB Inbound Trip Corp (JIT).
With over a decade of experience in the travel and tourism industry, his expertise spans branding, marketing, public relations & communication, strategic planning, and fostering relationships with global industry partners.
A passionate advocate for sustainable travel, Mr Chen actively promotes responsible travel as essential for the future of the industry and the well-being of communities worldwide. Through a holistic approach, from product innovation to traveller education, he drives meaningful change by embedding sustainability across the travel experience. He collaborates closely with leading international organisations, including UNWTO, WTTC, and UNGC, in addition to his position as a Board Member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), to advance global best practices in sustainable tourism.
Before joining Trip.com Group, he was a Marketing and Trade Manager for the Singapore Tourism Board. He also holds an MBA from the University of South Australia.
